Reality Bites

going to my parents hit me like a brick wall. first of all it didn't feel like home at all... weird. and then my parents started talking about changing my room into a guest room and how all their friends have moved to town.

it also hit me how much university is actually costing me, i never really thought about it seriously but 5 years times a crapload of loans every year. and then i see the people that are here and have a life; they have careers, morgages, marriages and are getting their acts together. i'm guessing i get to go to 6 weddings this summer and most are close to ppl my age, ppl i grew up with.

the last two years have been the most entertaining ever. i've gotten to try and do things i've never thought i'd be able to; things i could never do in my hometown ;). i feel so free no responsibility, no meetings, no teaching, no obligations, i wear what i feel like, work when i want to, go to class whenever i get up on time...

i was watching much music and they interviewed lindsay lohan, and Hilary Duff about partying. lindsay was like "i'm gonna be young and have fun... it's better for me to let the world know then fake who i am... blah blah" and Hilary just talked about how she didn't do that. to be far i really don't believe hilary for a second, however i grew some respect for her for keeping her partying secreat, because she does have a young audience. it made me think of my audience. i know that i have "an audience of one", i totally get that. for ppl in a leadership position i think this is different. extra sacrifices need to me made. sometimes it's ez to forget that. i know it's my love that should set me apart, but sometimes to maintain ppl's respect tangible discusions need to be made.

i guess it's time to put on the roles of camp counsellor, teacher, daughter, sister, aunty, church member... in the city i'm just the girl with average style, but here ppl see throu different lenses.
